Still, we walked the route that's shown here which takes that two-sides-of-a-triangle up Gopa Hill, and although longer than the Clyne Valley route it was really nice....

The southern half is largely on the Gower Way and on a dismantled railway line....

The climb was pretty quick and then the route stays on the top for ages with lovely views back over the Loughor Estuary and the Gower and the sea at the far west end....

Walk this routeBut as this is a tidal area, I think better signage would be required for the route to be considered safe for the network....

Walk this routeFrom Pontarddulais, the route follows the main road until Hendy. The route takes you through Llangennech to avoid a 700m of the main road without a footpath. Rejoining the A4138 at Trosserch Road, it's a long and unpleasant walk for 3km into Dafen....

Follow the road up through Garnswllt before turning left (well marked with footpath sign) along a track/driveway and then right up a long flight of steps. When this peters out, just head slightly right and uphill for a short distance until you come to the road. The path then drops steeply off to your right, down a short, sharp hill - at the bottom of the hill, turn left onto the clear track and follow it until you get to the gate off the common. Follow the lane down, then at the end of the lane turn right onto the road into Pontarddulais itself....

Walk this routeDifficult to find the start point, poorly marked for the first half and frequently unclear how to traverse private land, as a result it's been barely used of late and is heavily overgrown in places....
