  • https://beta.slowways.org/Settlement/Royston%20(Herts) Error 500 Sorry, something has gone wrong. It's not you it's us! Our engineers have been notified and will be working on fixing this error, please check back soon. Reported 08 Mar 2024
  • Please can you delete KenTeb Two (Kendal to Tebay) which somehow was uploaded without the map. I have successfully uploaded KenTeb Three now. Thanks. Reported 10 Mar 2024
  • New surveys have stopped updating the two little circles. I have submitted 11 surveys since 1st Feb, which are all showing in the surveys tab on the route page, but the circles still show white UU. Reported 29 Feb 2024
  • Re MarpNew continued... The link takes you to https://beta.slowways.org/Route/Dawexm/8803 which shows the same map as https://beta.slowways.org/Route/Marpnew/8803 Reported 06 Feb 2024
  • The "diversity and inclusion questions thanks" email is entitled "Congratulations on completing your survey training". That sounds like the survey training email title has been copied over and not updated by mistake. Reported 27 Jan 2024
  • The Marple to New Mills page https://beta.slowways.org/SlowWay/Marpnew#close has a weird DawExm Two link on the map Dawlish-Exmouth but the link takes you to MarpNew Two. Reported 06 Feb 2024
  • While submitting a review, I tried to upload some photos (see my following bug report). The photos did not upload. I received an error message, "The photos failed to upload". This is not a useful or informative message. I would expect something like "Uploaded photos are too large. Try submitting them individually or selecting smaller, or fewer, photos." Reported 10 Jan 2024
  • To reproduce: I went to submit a review on a review page, similar to https://beta.slowways.org/Route/Stoshe/7765/Review#reviews I dragged and dropped 10 photos, all under 1MB each. Observed behaviour: I received an error message, "The photos failed to upload". I reduced the number of photos (even possibly to just 2) and retried but still received the error. Expected behaviour: Photos should upload. If this is not possible with multiple photos, there should be an instruction to upload individually and a suitably informative error if someone doesn't see that. Workaround: I uploaded the photos individually and it worked. Latest firefox, Windows 10. Reported 10 Jan 2024
  • To Reproduce: Go to a route page, eg. https://beta.slowways.org/Route/Uppshe/10527 Scroll down to "Other Routes for Upper Derwent Visitor Centre—Sheffield" There are links for "uppshe one", two and three. Observed behaviour: Middle mouse clicks on the links don't work do nothing (normal behaviour is to open in a new tab). Right mouse clicks are missing standard link options: "open link in new tab", etc. Left click works as normal. Expected behaviour: Should work like normal HTML links. There are other links on the page that do work normally but these are a bit broken. Workaround: Open three other copies of the same page, clicks the links normally on each copy to get to the desired page. (Loading on these extra pages was very slow for some reason in that, even though all contents appeared to be there, the throbber going for a few minutes.) Firefox, latest version. Windows 10. Reported 10 Jan 2024
  • Mold (Flintshire) is a hub with several Slowways routes, but search box does not find it ( I reported this bug at beta testing stage - still not fixed) Reported 08 Jan 2024
  • The last three surveys I input (on 5th and 7th January) are not showing. Hope this is just a holiday delay... Reported 10 Jan 2024
  • Inconsistency in photo thumbnail display for portrait oriented photos (and one other), possibly linked to the process by which they were uploaded. E.g. Rombre 2 thumbnails on route Overview page. Photos 1-7 uploaded with route: portrait photos = 6, 7: both thumbnails are portrait. Photos 8-21 from a review: portrait = 17: thumbnail is landscape but only shows middle part of photo - missing the full scope. Photos 22-28 from a photo survey: portrait = 22, 24, 26: thumbnails are all portrait. But photo 28 is different again as the photo is actually landscape (just! 1280 x 1251 pixels) but the whitespace surrounds the thumbnail display as if it were portrait. Is this is a new feature? I remember "portrait" thumbnails like photo 17 before. I'm not sure it's a success as the amount of white space now on the page rather defeats the purpose of a quick view of thumbnails, particularly when using a landscape computer screen. Maybe the whitespace could be shown as vertical white bands within portrait thumbnails so the on-route-page alignment and white space doesn't change? Or just return it to all being like 17 again - is there a functional need for full scope thumbnails for every portrait oriented photo? Reported 29 Dec 2023
  • Suggestion for a website text change, also related to Photos on a route Overview page Below the "Photos from Rombre two" header is this text: "Photos of this route *will* appear when they are added to a *review*. You can *review* this route here." (my emphasis) Possible new wording: "You can review this route and add your own photos here." Still nudges people to review, if no photos shown gives an implicit explanation why, no conditional coding required depending on if there are(n't) photos, and it's slightly less closed to idea of photos appearing beyond the remit of a review. Some survey photos are pretty odd out of context. Although if it was true that people needed to have "Photos of this route will appear here" spelt out to them then mentioning photos could also come in with a route upload or via an accessibilty survey is probably advisable. Most site visitors won't attempt to Add a better route, or take the Survey Training, or (currently) happen on a Survey page with a photo survey in it. Without that they won't know that photos can be added in either of those ways, it's not in the FAQs. Reported 29 Dec 2023
  • Suggestion that other towns/villages with accommodation and services are selected as hubs to break down longer routes. In N E Wales I suggest Llandegla is added - it is major village stage on Offas Dike way and near Wales link path (Llandegla Forest to Saltney) - link to Wales Coast path near Chester. In Pembrokeshire I suggest Trefin is added - to split St Davids to Goodwick or Fishguard routes Reported 08 Jan 2024
  • A little more diagnostic information on the photo uploading bug. I heard that others were able to upload them one at a time, and did a little more testing to try this. My conclusion is that it appears that they will still upload as long as you don't upload more than 1 MB at a time. So there is no way of uploading an individual picture that is bigger than that! See also the discussion on Discord. Reported 08 Jan 2024
  • Photos fail to be added when submitting a review (from a PC). Just get an error message. As mentioned on Discord. Reported 05 Jan 2024
  • Bug or feature? Completing a survey includes Route Description section, with a note to be concise. But I can't find it in the surveys that you can view later on the survey tab. E.g. both surveys on charwat 1, padkni 2, KniOxf 3, RomBre 2. It does show the main route description. Entering that has no suggestion to be concise or discuss accessibility and may even contradict the surveyor's experience. Reported 15 Dec 2023
  • Hello. CharWat 1's Photo Survey date shows as today's when it was probably back in Jan 2022 - the date of mtormeys main survey. ChaMon 1 is a nearby and also has a photo survey. The dates show just as you'd expect, Dec 2021. This feels a little de ja vu so I've probably seen the same issue before elsewhere and not let you know, or I'm repeating an issue you already know about. Apologies! Daisy. Reported 14 Dec 2023
  • There are several Scottish locations whose settlement pages have been giving error 500 for several days. Motherwell, Hamilton, Newarthill and Bellshill, there may be more. Reported 12 Dec 2023
  • I have also been unable to upload photos to reviews and routes - both while creating new ones and via edits. Reported 29 Dec 2023
  • I’ve downloaded the app on iPhone XS but am unable to login despite making sure I have reset it and am using the correct, current password saved on the website. I am able to log into with the website ok using the same details. I’ve tried signing up for an account on the app using the same email address as for the website, and get a message that email address is already in use. I’m guessing this means the same login details (email and password) apply across both platforms. I’ve been getting your newsletter since the beginning and hope to log into the app soon to start reviewing! Reported 26 Dec 2023
  • I am unable to upload photos to route reviews (specifically Borsan4) Reported 25 Dec 2023
  • Something weird is happening when I try to save a route to a waylist this morning (22 Dec) - both on Firefox (laptop) and Samsung browser (Android). Both show a black rectangle covering most of the SlowWays tab - escaping clears this on Firefox but it pops up again and the save doesn't work. Reported 22 Dec 2023
  • RomBre 2 survey submitted earlier but the route grading shows variously as UU, 0U or correctly 4X if you scroll right down the survey tab. Chrome did crash during my first attempt to submit this, might be relevant? Thanks. Reported 15 Dec 2023
  • On an iPad Air the OpenStreetMap attribution on the home page fails in landscape mode in both Chrome and Safari. The purple bar obscures part of the index map, the attribution and scale bar. Reported 24 Nov 2023
  • Downloaded routes not showing as downloaded Reported 06 Nov 2023
  • Would love to use your app, but I'm an Android user. Please develop for Android :) Thanks Reported 03 Nov 2023
  • Would love to use your app, but I'm an Android user. Please develop for Android :) Thanks Reported 03 Nov 2023
  • Just tried to download Polmont to Bo'ness (Polbo One), and get either a 500 server error (if using the download button on the route itself), or a slightly more friendly 'we can't find that' message (if downloading the route from the context menu on the map). Other gpx files seem to be downloading Ok so I thought there might be a problem with that gpx in particular. Exactly the same as the last but one error but a different route! Mary Reported 01 Nov 2023
  • Hi Cristie and Dan. Not a bug but a general comment for development of the reviewing process. Please have a look at the string of comments on LevKen Four. Cheers! Reported 21 Oct 2023
  • 2 x Soubur Ones Select ‘Show routes for South Woodham Ferrers’ Select line to show routes for Soubur. Both routes are displayed, but both are labelled Soubur One. Pretty sure these displayed correctly as Soubur One and Two until recently. Thanks Jane Reported 10 Oct 2023
  • Just tried to download Wantage to Kingston Bagpuize (Wantkin) on several devices, and get either a 500 server error (if using the download button on the route itself), or a slightly more friendly 'we can't find that' message (if downloading the route from the context menu on the map). Other gpx files seem to be downloading Ok so I thought there might be a problem with that gpx in particular. Reported 09 Oct 2023
  • just testing slack and ZD Reported 04 Oct 2023
  • Unexpected routes displayed From ‘show routes from Yarmouth’ page, I clicked the Yarven line to show routes Yarmouth to Ventnor. The two Yarven routes were correctly listed at the top of the page, but when I scrolled down to display the map, as well as the Yarven routes, two other routes were displayed: Staoxf Three, and Cheche Three Any ideas?! As with my other bug report this is something that shows up on the map display, not the list of routes. I can’t work out how to add a photo into this report but I can put them into an email response if it helps. Thanks Jane Reported 05 Oct 2023
  • I noted this was reported. My route won't upload because the start and endpoints don't match but I put both into my OS Maps program and included them in the route? "When uploading a route the start and end points have to match the pre-existing choice of start and end already on the website. It shouldn't matter if a route goes from the existing "end" to the existing "start", i.e. is inverted. (e.g. Chippenham to Calne is the same as Calne to Chippenham - either direction should work.)" Reported 26 Apr 2021
  • I’m having issues with my account it seems - all my friends can access route pages no problem, and when I’m not logged into the site I can as well. As soon as I log in to my account, however, I run into Error 500 messages whenever I try to open most of my waylists or any route pages! Reported 18 Jul 2022
  • This may be related to the more general site instability this morning, but I spent some time sorting my walked walks waylist earlier so that the early ones were in chronological order, and all but one of my changes seem to have been been reverted to the old random order, so I'll have to do it all again now. Reported 22 Jan 2023
  • Hello. I'm struggling a little to enter place names on the "Find your Slow Way" landing page. On a smartphone (Android) the text box where you initially enter a place name becomes unreadable when you start typing anything in it. You can't tell if you have mistyped it. And that can be a particular problem if you are less proficient at typing on phones. Like many older people, or people with tremors, or people like me who seem to just have fat fingers. The problem is threefold. a) the on screen keyboard takes up the bottom half of the screen b) the purple box (which shows how many routes etc have been completed) pops up when you start typing and it fills half the remaining screen space almost covering the text box. c) you can't make the text box reappear by scrolling, as the purple box just scrolls up and down over/with it. It's pretty bad with the phone in portrait, but in landscape it's impossible. I would like to look at routes on my phone so it's a problem for me. But no-one else seems to have noticed or perhaps have cared and I realise you are a small team and have limited resources for website tweaks. This would be on my personal wishlist though because it is the entry point every time I want to use it. Reported 29 Jun 2021
  • Too many Waylists which I created by accident or ignorance now I wishto delete them but while a pop up box appears it does't work. I see this was reported back in June but it's still a problem. Reported 29 Oct 2021
  • Problem with GPX download of waylist. Download of current waylist only actually downloads waylist as originally built, route added subsequently is missing. New route =WooTha 1 so waylist is still connected as single line. https://beta.slowways.org/user/waylist/25-nov/8492 Have noticed other minor issues with waylist downloads so this is probably known bug, reporting just in case it's not. Reported 05 Dec 2022
  • Same as previous reported problem - I tried to upload an alternative route with 2 photos and gpx file with correct end points and got the same error message Reported 04 Jul 2021
  • Further to my previous report on problems with pledges. The error happened from this page https://beta.slowways.org/Route/Whitmar/4090 . I have successfully pledged on this page https://beta.slowways.org/Settlement/Whitchurch%20(Shropshire) Reported 14 Jul 2023
  • Having surveyed Newoln today: Errors/bugs - I gave this a 3 for path surface grade – it has been recorded as U. - I gave this a Y for mobile phone coverage – it has been recorded as ‘no information’ - I gave this a Y for free of flight of steps – it has been recorded as ‘don’t know’ Lack of clarity - When uploading photos there is no acknowledgement of uploading successful once you do it. Can’t tell if its worked or not, which is frustrating. - I skipped the gradients and camber questions (I didn’t measure them) – but they are shown as 0%. This is misleading – implies it’s flat. - A red X next to ‘Possible to avoid steps’ implies there are steps, even when I ticked to indicate there were no flights of steps. Suggest change to say ‘Possible to avoid steps, if applicable’ General comment - Please can there be a way to edit your own previously uploaded survey? This would mean any errors made in uploading can be fixed immediately, or data amended in light of new info (e.g. adding features later if not done first time). If this feature already exists -please nake clear how to choose it. Reported 11 May 2021
  • I had a problem uploading a route using a ViewRanger gpx file. I was able to get round the problem by importing to the Ordnance survey, then exporting again, then uploading to slow ways. Reported 29 Apr 2021
  • Error 500 New Waylist I’m trying to create a new waylist for the National Park trail, and the last couple of days its crashing out with Error 500. Deadline is approaching!! I created some new ones about a week ago no problem. Thanks, Jane Reported 29 Jun 2022
  • The map function isn't loading at all for us on the site today. We've tried both Chrome and Edge. There is a javascript error in the console that seems related to this - can send more details if you can't replicate the error. Reported 27 Nov 2021
  • A particular type of "Download GPX file" link doesn't work. Start from a route page, make unverified routes visible, then click and choose Download GPX from popup. Goes to a url like this https://beta.slowways.org/gpx/3524_Romsou_Romford_South%20Ockendon.gpx It's a page of plain text html starting with "XML file has no style information associated with it". Perhaps trying to open a gpx file in browser instead of downloading it? Reported 29 Apr 2023
  • Am finding a real problem just signing in! On my iPad it goes straight in - but I cannot access my profile ( well I can but it doesn’t tell me password obviously as I’m already logged in...but then when trying to reset password - or find some way of you letting me reset a password - it asks me for my Password ....rrrgh)!! I need to check my password to upload a route to my iPhone. - I see that I have downloaded a local route - but when I open it it is obviously got to be loaded into Mapmywalk...but I cant do it!! I have spent ages going round and round in circles - I could have designed a walk in the time Ive spent here. This is such a shame as I was really looking forwards to trying out a route! Help to access or reset password then?? Reported 26 Apr 2021
  • Review of Milble Three isn’t showing. This seems to be the same problem I had last week when I submitted a review for Walkin Two which also disappeared with no trace. (Ticket 1206). I wrote a review of Milble Three using the app, 2 photos attached, submitted, look to be fine, no error message, but …. no new review appears. I think this needs a bit more following up please, it is very frustrating, and also when I have to do it twice the second one is always going to be less considered and probably less useful as a result. I can go back to using the website for posting reviews, but I did find using the app easier for managing the photos. Reported 11 Jun 2023
  • The Terms include "natural person". What does "natural" mean here? There is no contact email for general enquiries. Reported 15 Jun 2023
  • Something seems to me to have changed in the home page. Entering Hilton in the search box now no longer brings up Hilton (South Derbyshire) - which is a Slow Ways node. Searching for Hilton now brings up five Multiple Matches, all of them various Hiltons in England or Scotland, but none of them SW nodes. Up to a week or two ago Hilton (South Derbyshire) WAS found from a search for Hilton. This seems to have a flavour of the problem reported for MOLD in the bug report dated 26 June? Reported 04 Jul 2021
  • Not a problem with the website but your description of an X access grade is completely wrong on the IOS app. An X means not accessible to wheelchairs etc. I know because I surveyed some routes in the summer and they were definitely not accessible for wheelchairs. Please remedy the route access grade descrption in the App , as soon as possible, so that the app does not ‘lead people astray’ over accessibilty. Thanks. Jm Reported 20 Oct 2022
  • This is just a test of the 'bugs' page on the web site. No need to respond! Reported 14 Apr 2021
  • Hi Cristie! I’m not sure this is a bug so much as an explanation I’m looking for. I’m getting frequent emails (6 in the last 24 hours) saying one of my routes has been reviewed. The route is Marlei One Markfield to Leicester, and the name of reviewer is David Griffiths. I don’t have David on my radar as a developer (perhaps I should). The more recent reviews include ‘test’, and they don’t appear on the live site. Could you do a check with Darren that this is all ok and above board? I will then ignore the emails! Thanks, Jane Reported 29 Mar 2023
  • Your site does not seem to recognise Chorlton or Chorlton-cum-Hardy!! Not a good introduction as I have two better routes to add to the ones on your map. Reported 08 Sep 2022
  • I have uploaded facilities for Stainburn twice now (about one and two weeks ago) but although I get a note to say they have been successfully uploaded they have not appeared on the site. Reported 20 Jul 2021
  • For some reason I can't create a survey, nor can I login to the Forum pages. When trying to create a survey, I click on the survey tab on the route and it asks me to complete my surveyor training which I have definitely done. Also, my login details don't work in the Forum pages, but they do when I use them to login to the main site. Reported 21 Jun 2022
  • I downloaded a Waylist and successfully transferred it to my OS device. All well and good. However, when I look at "My Account" it says I haven't downloaded any routes. Is there a fundamental difference between Routes and Waylists? If so, this needs to be made clear elsewhere on the site Dave Bennett Reported 21 May 2021
  • I just tried to write a review for one of the Plymouth-Plymstock routes today (22/05/2021), along with 3 photos, and I received an Error 500 message after submitting. Reported 22 May 2021
  • Please can you remove Maiasc Zero which is showing in my reviews waylist THIS LINK https://beta.slowways.org/Route/Maiasc/9258. It's another blank one. However, please be careful about https://beta.slowways.org/SlowWay/Maiasc. The text says there is no route for Maidenhead to Ascot, but the map shows my Skipton to Cross Hills route, although clicking that takes you to SkiCro Zero https://beta.slowways.org/Route/Skicro/9258 which is blank. I re-uploaded SkiCro Three https://beta.slowways.org/Route/Skicro/9890 which seems to be okay. There seems to be an ongoing occasional problem when uploading a new route, possibly when someone else happens to submit something at the same time. There is now no Maidenhead to Ascot at all, and my Skipton to Cross Hills disappeared (but I uploaded it again), and also when I added Preston Leyland (PreLey Two) it somehow got linked to Thorniehill-Barrhead near Glasgow as far as my waylist map goes https://beta.slowways.org/Route/Bartho/9391. Reported 12 Jul 2022
  • i signed up for Slow Ways in 2020 and have been receiving updates to the above email address. Today i tried to login to the site and having forgotten my password tried a password reset. The system did not recognise my email address and so I have created a new account. I can not now access my account (error 500?) Reported 25 Apr 2021
  • Selecting OS maps does not show OS maps at all but a grey and white basemap with little detail. Other map types work as expected (ie Openstreetmap and topography) Reported 16 Apr 2021
  • There is an anomaly with Yate to Frampton Cotterell-winterbourne. The Slow Ways map indicates that there is a Slow Way between these two places but a click through from the line leads to a blank page and the Slow Way is not mentioned on either of the place pages. Is there a Slow Way GPX for this route? Is there meant to be? Reported 12 Feb 2023
  • Hello, When downloading a route from a specific route page on a mobile device (Safari, iOS 14.8) the download "popup" or overlay has an incorrect Z-height - it appears below the download/print/save to waylist etc. buttons. The "Yes, Download" button is still visible so the page is still usable but it could do with a touch up. I'll send a screenshot shortly to illustrate. Thanks! Aidan Reported 18 Sep 2021
  • My last five submitted surveys have not been added to the site. BRISAL 3, PARBUR 2, PARBUR 1, STEPAR 1, ARUSTO 2 Reported 13 Mar 2022
  • There are 2 SouBur One routes. https://beta.slowways.org/Route/Soubur/257 and https://beta.slowways.org/Route/Soubur/4497. Upload date for both is 7 April 2021. Bit confusing for users, not sure if it could have any technical consequences. At the moment there is a single negative review on 257, and nothing on 4497. But 4497 coincides with (or follows) the suggested fix (and it adds a little more coast path nr one end). Is possible to rename one of them, i.e. simply change 4497 to SouBur 2? Reported 05 Mar 2023
  • As stated by others the new suggested route I tried to upload was rejected because the start and end points were more than 15 m from the designated start even though I used the maximum magnification on the maps to ensure they were exactly the same. The start and end points would seem to be too strict and I think they should be relaxed a little to avoid this problem. Reported 19 Apr 2021
  • I walked Cirfai two on 3 July and have submitted a review and a survey. However the route details are no longer visible. I just get an error 500 and a promise someone is looking in to it. By the way searching for a route from Cirencester to Fairford produces 3 results but only Cirfai two was visible until the above. The other 2 don't show anything. Cirfai one is presumably excluded because it's described as dangerous in two's description but three is a mystery. Reported 08 Jul 2023
  • Can't get passed screen two of the training module. (page 2 of 7) , throws error banner saying two errors on page . Tried with Safari & Firefox (on Mac OS) Reported 31 Dec 2021
  • Route Strkin One I was checking a route that I originally plotted. The route on the website has an excess of waypoints and they are not accurately placed - It looks like the route was simplified (some turns and wiggles removed) and then run through another system that added a load of intervening points. In its current form it cannot be followed. I have downloaded the route, uploaded into OS then corrected. The web page won't let me upload that new route - error message says start and finish too far from grid ref. But I haven't changed the start and end points - on the OS they match the ones quoted. Please let me know if there is something else I can do. Reported 25 Apr 2021
  • The zoom in/out trackpad gesture doesn't work on the site's maps. Using latest Chrome or Firefox on macOS 10.14. Reported 14 Jun 2021
  • Route map not showing. But on main site this time. Coucat 2 using chrome on android. Blank white space instead, key does show. Refresh etc makes no difference. Only happens on this route of the 6 or show I've just been looking at. Reported 24 Jun 2023
  • I tried to complete a survey (Aldwit One) and uploaded 22 photos with detailed comments in each photo box. However, I can’t see the photos on the website. Also, I had prepared answers to all the questions about % of route on roads etc, about the terrain, facilities, etc and none of these came up. As soon as I had answered the accessibility questions and uploaded the photos, the survey was submitted and that was it. I can’t see how I’d go back in to edit my survey. I also didn’t get an email confirming that I’d submitted a survey. Reported 29 Apr 2021
  • Website looking good but as others have said the paging needs a bit of refinement. How to link - enjoy responsibly link returns a blank page - verify link paragraph 3 ‘beshould’ needs a space, paragraph 4 ‘aa route’ needs a link?, ‘three people think’ looks odd - survey link paragraph 1 is missing an ‘and’ - add link, how can you add is missing a full stop between transport and find, Scotland click here is not a link Great Britain and United Kingdom are used interchangeably - is this deliberate? About section No mention of ‘in the news’ and ‘who’s making it happen’ sections Information looks good and easy to read, but have you considered the look and feel of the pages and any accessibility requirements to make the site accessible to everyone? Reported 19 Apr 2021
  • Sometimes comments from one review are attached to another . See my comments on my own review of BRISAL one. There's a further comment from someone else's review of a completely different Slow Way. It mentions HS2, so it's nothing to do with Brighton. Reported 03 Oct 2021
  • Similar to the problem reported by Rona yesterday. I’m trying to pledge to walk from Newport (Shops) to Whitchurch (Shrops) via Market Drayton but every time I hit the pledge button on either leg it takes me to error 500. Reported 14 Jul 2023
  • The reset e-mail for a forgotten password is not arriving Reported 24 Apr 2021
  • I used the routing facility and a 18.9 mile walk took two hours. Hardly a slowway. Reported 30 Jun 2022
  • My waylist https://beta.slowways.org/user/waylist/All%20routes%20walked%20by%20Mary%20Oz/3643 is showing a random straight line from Maidenhead to Ascot. Nowt to do with me! Reported 20 Dec 2021
  • Hello - I've just completed the Surveyor Training including the questionnaire at the end and the tick box - but this has not registered in my Profile which still offers me a link to do another surveyor training?! Reported 30 Apr 2021
  • I tried to add photographs to a review but when submitting I receive an Nginx error saying Error: 413 “Request Entity Too Large”. I initially tried with 15 photos and then 7 and got the error both times. Reported 17 May 2021
  • When signing up the form requires a username, email address and password. When I logged in I used username and password but then it asked me to use my email address to login. Note that I use a password manager so whilst the form may have said "email", auto-complete fills it in anyway. I would avoid "username" as it's generally regarded as the other part of logging in. If the username is meant as a way of identifying you to other users, probably better to make this a "Nickname" or "Name" which can then be updated in a profile section. Lastly, passwords will become a thing of the past. Even banking now (Monzo) does not have a password. I would recommend adding to your backlog to drop passwords and use email authentication. Reported 24 Apr 2021
  • I can’t work out how to view a route. If I click download nothing seems to happen. Trying to access on my iPhone so likewise if I try to print it says not compatible with screen size. Will try using laptop but ideally I need to be able to access the route from phone to follow when out walking. Shame to hit a dead end so soon. Reported 30 Apr 2021
  • Getting Error 500 whenever click Route link from a Place page. Can't progress to looking at route info. Reported 07 Jun 2021
  • I listened to the talk this morning via u3a which I found very interesting, so naturally looked to see how the website worked and 1st impressions look good. However our village in not included. I live in Balsall Common, near Coventry, West Midlands, north of Kenilworth. On the map it shows Balsall Street which just a street. Therefore , maybe you can change this to Balsall Common which has a population of nearly 7,000 and increasing rapidly. Thank you Reported 17 Jun 2021
  • Ink Atlas links are misbehaving. From a route page > click More Options > All the options respond on Left Click except Ink Atlas. It is possible to Right Click, new window etc but a) this has changed b) it'd probably be off putting to new/irregular users, especially if they don't know what Ink Atlas is anyway (I didn't!). And Ink Atlas / printing a map (without using one of the recommended apps?) doesn't seem to be mentioned in the FAQ which is odd. Reported 12 Nov 2022
  • Something seems to have changed with the waylist pages, and now the map isn't displaying anything! On the waylist page, I just see a blank white screen where the map should be. Reported 01 Dec 2021
  • Settlement pages say "N people have contributed to Settlement X's Slow Ways", but it seems to be a simple count of reviews, not including authors of new routes or discounting repeated names. E.G. Edenbridge: it says 4 people should be 2 people, or maybe 3 if you include the original routes as a single anon. author. Not serious but it does seem to be a bug given that review numbers and number of routes drawn are explicitly stated (for SWays) elsewhere on the same page. Reported 24 Aug 2023
  • I submitted a Hucarn One survey but has not appeared on the website. I’m not keen to resubmit in case it duplicates. Reported 23 Jan 2022
  • I walked edewes1 yesterday but now can't access the route to review it - I keep getting error 500 Reported 28 Jun 2022
  • Cannot do a place survey for Gillingham (Dorset). It appears this is because Gillingham in Dorset and Gillingham in Kent both have the place name Gillingham, and any reference to Gillingham links to the Kent one. This also means that any attempt to create a new route for the existing Slow Ways from the Dorset Gillingham (Gilmer, Gilsha, Margil, Stagil, Wingil) requires the Kent Gillingham as a start point. Gillingham is a Walkers are Welcome town, but we really can't promote Slow Ways in North Dorset until this is resolved. I suggested in the forum that they be renamed Gillingham (Dorset) and Gillingham (Kent). Could this be looked at quite urgently please? Thanks Reported 30 Apr 2021
  • I have reviewed a route - CanHer - Canterbury to Herne Bay. I up loaded some images but only one image is shown. I have mentioned residential, developments, woodlands and farmland in my review and thought I should illustrate how varied this walk was. Reported 01 May 2021
  • Hi, I wrote a review for a route, and saved it, but it does not display. I wrote is again, same thing. Are reviews working? Thanks Robert Reported 28 Apr 2021
  • Getting an Error 500 when I try to access my waylist list from either the top ribbon button ("My Waylists") or from my account page ("Waylists and Saved Routes"). I can roundabout access individual waylists by clicking on a route in the journey planner page, letting the list of waylists appear, and then clicking "view" on a particular waylist to view it. Reported 11 Jul 2021
  • After editing a flagged review to reword it, the flag is removed and the associated text disappears, even if you do not change the flag (which means you have to update the review again to restore the flag, and retype the text). I have encountered this bug twice in the last week, most recently with BOLSHI 1. Reported 01 Dec 2022
  • Routes have a date but it seems to be an Edit date not date uploaded. A route of mine whose description I later updated now appears to be about a year younger than the review. Not serious, but a bit confounding. Reported 24 Aug 2023
  • Hi, I imagine there is an update or something. However, I tried to download a couple of fox files today. Likely to Otley and Guisley to Otley. Both returned an error 500. Tried both a few times. Tq Reported 20 Mar 2022
  • Suggestion (the suggestion link in the e-mail does not seem to be working so I cannot leave a suggestion there). Some 'Places' in North Yorkshire have no bus or train stops, and no accommodation, but seem to have been chosen based solely on geographical location. There are, however, inns offering accommodation, Bed and Breakfast and holiday lets in places within a few miles of those suggested and there are also places with bus routes and train stations also within a few miles. It is unlikely anyone would want to walk to somewhere they cannot get out of or stay in, so I wonder if provision could be made for adding/removing 'Places' subject to agreement of others, in a similar manner to adding/removing routes. The exact way in which this could be done would need to be thought through. Reported 20 Apr 2021
  • Unexpected route showing on Waylist! Kinwin Two has just appeared on one of my waylists - pretty sure it wasn't there yesterday. There is also a message on the waylist route list saying 'This route no longer exists in the network as it has been flagged (10502)' - which I think may be related. Thanks Jane Reported 31 May 2023
  • - I cannot see any actual routes/maps ! - I can see everything else fine - and I know what it should look like as I have done the online session this week - but for routes/maps I am just getting just blank screens ..... help ..... Reported 30 Apr 2021
