Help connect Frimley
Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.
Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.
Give a hike and help get a for every one of Frimley’s Slow Ways.

Probably the best walking route between Camberley and Frimley given the character of the surrounding area....

The only spot where I was a bit uncertain was the sharp turn from Rectory Road in Farnborough. It is rather concealed....
Petr Sadilek
The Church Path becomes very muddy so better stick to Highgate Lane to the A325 pedestrian crossing....
David
This route mostly leads along a military shooting range where there is a fence with a barbed wire on one side. The approach to Frimley is through a wooded area with many crisscrossing footpaths so it doesn't matter too much if walkers don't hit the right one. It is easy to follow, safe and I would recommend it to others....

Petr Sadilek added Frilig two, a new walk from Frimley to Lightwater
Walk this routeI'll be drawing another version of the route which avoids the swampy area....
Petr Sadilek
Great to get from one point to the other, but little of interest if wanting to get into nature. There is a longer but much more pleasant route along the A331....
Duffnut
There is no sidewalks on Brackendale road but the road itself is quiet. There are ramps on both sides of the bridge crossing M3....
v199629
I would use route one if time is allowed as this route mainly follows a busy main road (wide pavement with cycle lane on one side). It is not the easiest to cross the roundabout on Hawley lane as on one side the pedestrian is not traffic lights controlled....
v199629
The first section from Frimley utilises the Blackwater Valley path (follow the signs for Blackwater Valley Path South) which is a good flat surface but slightly muddy in places after wet weather. The next section is a surfaced path between the gravel pits (now fishing lakes) and a foot level crossing over the railway line before entering Frimley Green. After the last lock (Lock 15) at Brookwood the towpath changes sides and becomes a surfaced path all the way to Brookwood station....

Not Much to add to the previous 2 great reviews, This is a route I would use again but be aware it does get very wet underfoot in places after rain. But it is a pleasant walk. and only loses a start for the road noise ( but you do get used to that)....
Duffnut
Does lose a star for road noise though the busy A331 runs alongside for most of the way. Quite an easy walk gentle hill near Farnborough station, but nothing to worry about....
Duffnut
Simple urban route using mostly roads. Long ramps up and down at the footbridge over the M3. Brackendale Road does not have a footpath and there are some blind bends so beware of traffic....
Walker1
This path has an accessibility route along the Blackwater Valley path, which is made up of generally compacted surface with some gravel in places. The route is generally level with some rises over the A331 road bridge and the approach to Frimley station. The Farnborough road can be crossed at a pedestrian crossing....
Graham Field
The route was generally level, excepting the slope to avoid steps at the BlackWater station....
Graham Field
The route then crosses the Blackwater River via a wooden footbridge and enters an enclosed woodland before passing through a gate onto open land of Hawley Meadows. After passing under the M3 motorway right next to the river, the route emerges at Frimley Business Park where you walk between office buildings and the river....
Hettid
Keep to the sides of Brackendale Road on the corners to avoid approaching traffic....
PaulaZ
Access easy, the only bit wheelchair users may struggle with is the railway crossing at Farnborough North station but there is normally someone there who mans the crossing....
