Throughout the route you are very well segregated from cars, there are some lovely green spaces and paths (termed redways locally) that have high quality surfaces and are completely car-free....

David Sanderson added Blewob three, a new walk from Bletchley to Woburn Sands
Walk this routeThe pavement is set back far from the road and a series of wide underpasses allow you to walk through without having to cross any other roads. There is a short cross country section involving 2 kissing gates and then a walk along the pavement of the busy road to Woburn Sands....

Walk this routeThe only element that nearly lost it a star was the decision to cross the busy H7 Chaffron Way between the bus stops rather than using the underpass but it was obvious enough to ignore when I walked it....

Straightforward route, we walked in direction from Woburn to Woburn Sands....

Access would be a little difficult at points due to logs blocking paths and steps on steep inclines. The route is accurate to the paths on the ground and would definitely walk again!...

Easy route to follow - only one path through a field was a few meters off from the marked path, but easy to follow to the required gap in the hedge. Would walk again!...

Some steeper sections might be tricky, and kissing gates and steps make this not for wheels....

The only point to note here is when you get to the end of this section where the route takes you out onto the Woburn Road, the route as plotted suggests you need to go through a locked gate when in fact you should follow the path round to the right a little way, which takes you to a pelican crossing allowing you to cross the road safely. There are a few kissing gates in the first section from Woburn Sands to Ridgmont and then a couple more when the route passes into Ampthill Park, but no stiles and apart from a few steep but short climbs nothing too taxing....

Here there is a little road walking but quickly you get onto footpaths that take you through Crawley Park lands with some nice views, then through a small wood before on through fields of sheep onto the Crawley Road. There is then a stretch along the road here before you cut off on a footpath through fields and then up Lydds Lane into Ridgmont. From Ridgmont you take a footpath to Segenhoe church and then on through fields down to a road....

Pleasant walk, quite scenic, avoiding majority of roads and urban areas where possible. Path surfaces vary; grass fields, compacted mud, stone, wood bark, but mostly tarmac. One flight of steps (can be navigated around) after the community orchard at Peartree Bridge, and several kissing gates on the route....

From Woburn Sands station there is a long stretch on the Woburn Sands - Cranfield road, which although it is two lane has no speed restrictions and no pavement or verge for most of it. I therefore opted to take the second of the two route options as it got off the road soonest. The path up onto the bridge was cinder and would have been hard going for a wheelchair or pushchairs but I think any one using these would have given up on the road section anyway....

This is a pleasant short walk, first bit through Woburn Sands continuing through Woburn Woods and over arable fields to Woburn. After a short section of woods the route comes to arable fields....

Up till from station (level crossing at station) going past some large Edwardian houses, arrive in small centre of Woburn Sands, public toilets, snack bars, shops pubs and hotel.
