This is a good route if you want to get a feel for the design of Milton Keynes as a garden city, it takes you through a variety of MK landscapes and mostly runs alongside the city's 'grid road' system....

Walk starts in Cranfield village and continues on pavement next to road past Cranfield airport. Just pasted Stilliters Farm there is a footpath that takes you to the University Campus and should be able to pick up footpath across field from there....

The route takes you through the centre of Milton Keynes which is a clean, modern, safe urban centre with array of shopping, through the Theatre District with an array of pubs and restaurants, into the superb Campbell Park with stunning scenery, along the superb Grand Union Canal, passing the gorgeous Willen Lake and Buddhist Temple, alongside Tongwell Lake (where people were water skiing), along the beautiful River Ouzel into the quaint town of Newport Pagnell. Step free, tarmac all the way, well signed, majority of route has street lighting. Highly recommended, but dropped a star due to: 1) having to cross a difficult road junction leaving Newport Pagnell at Willen Road, which would make it difficult for those in a wheelchair and 2) there is a slightly more direct route available, but Milnew 2 has clearly been designed to take in the fantastic scenery....
