Help connect Dunblane
Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.
Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.
Give a hike and help get a for every one of Dunblane’s Slow Ways.

Review of Slow Ways route Dunbri1 (Dunblane to Bridge of Allan one). Thankfully the weather in the previous week had been fairly dry and I found the route relatively easy and most enjoyable....

Very beautiful and easy to navigate, but not accessible and quite rough in places....

Walk this routeFrom here either use the Core Path (part of the River Earn Path to Crieff) or use the minor road to Bennybeg then rejoin the main road....

Lovely route through the woods on a closed road. Part of the National Cycle Network spur connecting Bridge of Allan with Doune. Paved the whole way....

This is best avoided using the Crieff -Muthill section of the Crieff-Auchtertarder route. The Greenbrae to Braco section is similar, but less easily avoided....

Sorry, the majority of this route does not meet your criteria as it is on road or pavement throughout except the Northern section which is a void contender....
Martin66
It crosses the A820 and continues on a very good path. There is lovely scenery along the way....

The route continues along a mainly traffic free road although cars have access to houses and parking by the bollards....

David Giles added Dunbri two, a new walk from Dunblane to Bridge of Allan
Walk this routeI walked it late on Sunday morning in August and there was very little traffic on the road sections, but lots of pedestrians and cyclists. It has rather more of a hill than Dunbri one....
David Giles
It starts off along the edge of a golf course, then passes through parkland and enters woodland with views of the Allan Water. Some sections are quite rough underfoot (rocks and tree roots) and parts of the path turn into streams after heavy rain (and can become dangerously icy in winter). Passes a cave that is believed to have inspired Robert Louis Stevenson to write Treasure Island (RLS spent childhood summer holidays in Bridge of Allan)...
David Giles
Easy to follow, off any major roads, walking and cycling friendly....

Glen Road alternative is longer but a consistent hard surface. Footpaths and woodland - no lights!...
thebears
Good quality, well maintained pedestrian/cycleway. Very popular walk/cycle for families at weekend....
David Giles
Farm track and disused railway line, well used, well maintained, safe, only one road crossing....
rtruswell
Southern half is stunning, northern half is squeezed between unwelcoming-looking big house and golf club. You can divert to Glen Rd to avoid the northern half....
