This is a more accessible alternative to Dunbri one. It is all on roads, but the central third of the route is closed to traffic and all but about 200m of the rest is on pavements. The scenery is still attractive

Lovely route through the woods on a closed road. Part of the National Cycle Network spur connecting Bridge of Allan with Doune. Paved the whole way. Mix of quiet roads and closed road/cycle path.

This route has a good surface along the whole route. There is a footpath that narrows at times along Glen road. This footpath stops just before the turn off to Sheriffmuir.

The route continues along a mainly traffic free road although cars have access to houses and parking by the bollards.

Beyond the bollards the route is completely for cycling and walking until reaching upper Glen road. Houses come back into view from here.

A very enjoyable walk.

This is known as the Glen Road route between Dunblane and Bridge of Allan. I walked it late on Sunday morning in August and there was very little traffic on the road sections, but lots of pedestrians and cyclists. It has rather more of a hill than Dunbri one.
