You cross a foot bridge and reach a road which you follow to the east. The route then takes a path which branches off to the left immediately before the speed derestriction signs there is a gate but no fence with a garden immediately on the left. Badanfhuarain is surrounded by a fence which I did not try to cross. After about 100 metres you reach the path from Badanfhuarain. Shortly after Badanfhuarain there is a seat on a knoll under a pine tree about 80 metres from the main path which has good views of the Cairngorm massif....

The off path sections is tricky, heather bog and crossing a stream multiple times as it descends into a gorge....
One Woman Walks
I would suggest continuing on the Speyside way to use the old military road into Grantown instead of the main road. It's not that much longer and is nice along the river. Well signposted on the Speyside Way, but with gates and chain Stiles to navigate through the farms....

One suggestion I'd make would be to ignore the road section on leaving Carrbridge and instead follow the footpaths through the woods between the road and the railway. It add a little distance (maybe 1km at most) but avoids a busy road...

On leaving Aviemore, it takes a peculiar route through housing when a better route would follow the Speyside Way out of town....

At the Grantown end this route uses the Old Military road through the woodland and so avoids the main road and roundabout....

Walk this routeThe chain stiles used along the riverside walk along the disused railway do as suggested make wheeling very difficult ., But for easy walking the route on this section is ideal....

Very little on roads, some feels very quiet as it takes you into the depths of the Abernethy pine forest. Path in general very good and well maintained, muddy in places....
