You cross a foot bridge and reach a road which you follow to the east. The route then takes a path which branches off to the left immediately before the speed derestriction signs there is a gate but no fence with a garden immediately on the left. Badanfhuarain is surrounded by a fence which I did not try to cross. After about 100 metres you reach the path from Badanfhuarain. Shortly after Badanfhuarain there is a seat on a knoll under a pine tree about 80 metres from the main path which has good views of the Cairngorm massif....

At the Queens View Car Park it enters Glenavon Estate and follows a tarmac estate road as far as the still used Inchrory Lodge. Glenavon is a traditional shooting estate but has areas of broadleaved tree regeneration and planting and the walk along the Avon river is stunning. It would be good to tie in as part of a longer walking route through to Braemar or Ballater....

At the Tomintoul end the road in and out of the village has a woodland walk alongside away from the road....

between Cromdale and the path up and down the Cromdale Hills.And the section between Glenconglas and Tho old kennels near Tomintoul. The woodland section between Cromdale and Grantown is well marked with National Trail signs....
