Latest Updates
A beautiful walk along well maintained paths through native Caledonian Forest, with the Strathspey Railway for occasional company on the first section. Good facilities at Boat of Garten at the halfway point, and then a pleasant onward wark to Carrbridge. As a previous reviewer said, some alternative off-road routes on the approach to Carrbridge are readily available and signed....

I walked half of this route from Tomatin, leaving down a minor road to pass under the two impressive bridges over the Findhorn....

I walked this route from Aviemore on a warm sunny day and it was a delight. Cycle route 7 leads you west to the main road at Deshar school, where you leave the traffic behind going up the farm lane opposite....

One suggestion I'd make would be to ignore the road section on leaving Carrbridge and instead follow the footpaths through the woods between the road and the railway. It add a little distance (maybe 1km at most) but avoids a busy road...
