Help connect Haworth
Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.
Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.
Give a hike and help get a for every one of Haworth’s Slow Ways.

Latest Updates
Keeping the wall on your right, Ryecroft Road at Harden was reached with a now urban walk down through Harden and up the the entrance of the St Ives Estate. Continuing on eventually following the footpath signs for Low Park, the tarmac road out of the estate towards Bingley is reached. The Slow Way route says to continue down the road to the Brown Cow pub and cross the Ireland Bridge into Bingley....

RGW added Pachaw two, a new walk from Pack Horse Inn to Haworth
Walk this routeThis route follows clear and mainly waymarked footpaths between Hebden Bridge and Haworth. I walked it on late October after a period of heavy rain and whilst wet and muddy in places there was no difficulty. The paths can be rough in places and there are some sections with steps....
RGW
I was tempted to try this but given the time of year (late October) and the previous spell of wet weather I heeded the comments in other reviews and decided that the section across Midgley Moor would most likely be impassable. In the wrong weather conditions it would also be potentially dangerous. I have added the route I did take as Hebhaw Two - this uses clear and mainly waymarked footpaths for the whole length and should be passable (if muddy) throughout the year....

RGW added Hebhaw two, a new walk from Hebden Bridge to Haworth
Walk this routeOption to travel part way by train ( the route is wheelchair friendly from Haworth to oakworth station so that might be an option - but need to check if wheelchair access on train )....
Riggy
The route goes directly past three lovely little stations, and starts and ends quite near to two others on the Keighley and Worth Wally Railway, made famous as the filming location for The Railway Children. I can see Howieland’s point about walking along Coney Lane into Keighley, but I was happy walking the footpath right around for an unusual approach to Keighley Station which passes the railway turntable....
Mary Oz
But a nice combination of woodland, moorland and river / steam railway....
Becky Ayre
Only one issue near the start with a field deliberately blocked off with palettes and barbed wire (there was a way round this with a small detour) below Denholme Edge....
Alison Bravington
A long steep climb up the busy road that leads to the village of Haworth itself can be avoided by a short detour along to the K&WVR station, crossing the footbridge over the railway there, and then zig-zagging up through Central Park to the end of the route outside Haworth Old Hall Inn....
Sneil68
panoramic views from the highest points along the middle stretch between Deer Stones Edge and Midgley Moor....
Sneil68
Generally firm underfoot, though there are some very wet areas near Warley Moor Reservoir. Would recommend choosing a clear day to enjoy the fantastic views across Calderdale....
Mihaiti
Lovely walk with far reaching views; need a clear day to appreciate these. Some care needs to be taken crossing Midgley Moor as route not always obvious....
Lindsay M
I think most walkers would probably prefer to shorten the route by avoiding the section of Worth Way footpath between Coney Lane and the railway station....
