Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

16 Jan 2022Walked east to west (as 'Denhaw), once you leave the busy A629 this is a really nice walk, with great views all the way. The stretch across Black Moor on the 'Senior Way' feels quite wild and relatively remote, with bird song competing with the occasional distant sound of a steam engine chuffing in the unseen valley up ahead. The delightfully named 'Cuckoo Park Lane' leads down into the Worth Valley for the final km or so and - if you're lucky - a close encounter with one of the steam trains heard earlier!
A long steep climb up the busy road that leads to the village of Haworth itself can be avoided by a short detour along to the K&WVR station, crossing the footbridge over the railway there, and then zig-zagging up through Central Park to the end of the route outside Haworth Old Hall Inn. (If walked W. to E. as 'Hawden', from the start cross the main road junction to enter the park by its main entrance and follow the rest of the directions above in reverse.).

16 Jan 2022Lovely route, paths very well delineated. Great views. Felt very direct. Only one issue near the start with a field deliberately blocked off with palettes and barbed wire (there was a way round this with a small detour) below Denholme Edge.
