Help connect Church
Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.
Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.
Give a hike and help get a for every one of Church’s Slow Ways.

The surface is generally better too, and there is no difficult road crossing....

Walk this routeThis route is a little longer than ChuAcc One but it almost entirely avoids roads by using the off-road cycle track, which can be accessed right from Accrington Station....

The path continues, crossing a narrow wooden bridge (also muddy at the time) then crosses open grazing land....

From Church, the canal towpath is accessed via a quiet road and linking footpath....

This lane becomes more potholed as it heads towards the viaduct into Church and Oswaldtwistle Station....

The route leaves Church along housing streets, and then passes a rather sad looking derelict church, before crossing the Leeds and Liverpool Canal on a tarmacked farm access road....
