Walk this routeApart from the short walk ro the town centre this was wholly on the Brandon to Bishop Auckland Railway Path. I would reckon this to be suitable for wheelers. An excellent walk with shops at both ends....

Walk this routeOnce you leave the town and cross the Newton Cap Viaduct you are on the Bishop Auckland to Brandon Railway Path. Signs clearly say this is a shared path but there is plenty of room for cyclists to pass. It is easy walking and would be suitable for wheelers I would think....

Well marked and direct route for both cyclists and walkers (part of the national cycle network). Path can be prone to flooding after heavy rain on the section between Brancepeth and Brandon but is otherwise straightforward with gentle gradients. A short diversion is possible off the route at Brancepeth village to visit the castle and St....
