Help connect Sudbury
Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.
Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.
Give a hike and help get a for every one of Sudbury’s Slow Ways.

Starting in Sudbury along an old railway bed then across undulating farmland paths and tracks. Some very quiet country lanes around Lamarsh....

A couple of busy roads to cross initially but once you get past the industrial estate, it is off road until you get near to Acton when there is a small stretch of road walking before reaching a pavement....

A very pleasant route, .GPX file is accurate - (I downloaded to OS Maps & used it from there. 2 pubs enroute for refreshment - the Victory at Wickham St. Paul and The Fox at Bulmer Tye....

Going past a few beautiful buildings. A tiny detour will take you past a beautiful historic church. Parts are really beautiful and go through wheat/Barley fields and some woodland and past farms....

Some small inclines but fairly easy then through the "Hennys" ,including right past lovely old church and into Lamarsh. Some careful road side walking towards then past or into the Lamarsh Lion. After a good meal and drink in the Lion its a nice stroll over stiles and across railway track and down through meadows into Bures...
The first part was really nice but the road from Great Waldingfield to Sudbury was horrible - a busy road with a pavement for 2 miles. It would have been much better to leave the route there and go via Acton - probably longer but would have been much nicer I expect....
