Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

15 Apr 2023Yes, good route from Sudbury to Acton. Easy to walk and well signposted for the majority of the paths. A couple of busy roads to cross initially but once you get past the industrial estate, it is off road until you get near to Acton when there is a small stretch of road walking before reaching a pavement. Very flat and no overhanging branches along the pathways. Pathways at the start of the route are narrow and include steps which makes pushchair access difficult. Suitable for dog walks. Part of the path is on a Restricted Access Bridleway. It is safe and accurate.

25 Jun 2022Yes, good route from Sudbury to Acton. As direct as feasible. Not too pretty at the beginning, using a road and going through industrial estates for the first 20 minutes but nice after that. Going past a few beautiful buildings. Very flat. A tiny detour will take you past a beautiful historic church. But that path is narrower and wouldn't be suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. The route currently goes through a new housing development in construction so the path marked cannot be used for about 100m. But their is an obvious alternative. I would walk the route again. It is safe and accessible. It is safe. It is accurate. I would recommend it to others. Parts are really beautiful and go through wheat/Barley fields and some woodland and past farms.
