Slow Ways Cristie
There are no facilities at all (shop, pub or eatery, no bus stop or place to stay) which might not be a surprise in such a thinly populated area, but also no place to stop or park close by, little phone signal and not much of place to stand. At least there is a place to stop and sit there and the routes out from the hamlet are much safer, roadwise. In the meantime I’m flagging it for safety because walking along the mile or so of the fast B-road from the starting point to access the rest of the route north is not nice and would be hairy if the visibility was poor....

Overall a beautiful long route with the Ty Cornel hostel and a beautiful remote Chapel to stop off at, Soar Mynydd....

Walk this routeIf you really want to get away from it and total peace and quiet you can't beat this beautiful walk. Flossie fooled me and followed me for most of the track down to the road and then suddenly ran down the track and chased some sheep. Unfortunately Flossie had chased three sheep over the railway crossing and onto the A road - so I had to phone the police....

Footpath near Llanerchindda is not passable (May 2021), instead from Llandovery on reaching road west of Llanerchindda turn left, not right, and take first lane on right towards Cynannt Crossing River Cynannt is a ford, easy when the river is low, but difficult after a lot a rain...
