Latest Updates
There were some fallen trees to navigate around but it was easy with just walk into a field a bit. I would just keep right on the green as this cuts a very short section of slightly busier road off. On the approach to Fakenham before Hempton - the plotted route takes a short stretch of the very busy A1065 (see photo with double lines on road in middle) which has no pavement and more limited verge. The bit just before this was also a little busier but the verge was fine to walk on. I enjoyed the walk but I gave it a lower score due to the volume of road walking....

From Wells this route starts off great, but after Great Snoring the route does not work. It goes into non-public access land and also tries to blaze a trail where there is no access....

70% it is great, lovely quiet footpaths and bridal ways and very very quiet roads. Unfortunately there are two very long sections of main road with no footpath. I was on a bike so it wasn’t a huge issue, but for anyone walking it’s not going to be pleasant on those sections....

There were a few obstacles along the way such as a footpath overgrown and inaccessible, meaning I had to find another route around (luckily there was a road just further up that connected). Walking from Swanton to Melton Constable was along a very busy road and found it hard to get up on the side of the verge, out of the way of traffic There was also a field to walk through (public footpath) but did house a herd of cows which was quite unnerving as they all stopped to watch me as they went by....

Such as having to cross a busy A road, and walking along roads which had lots of traffic, making it hard to move out of their way. *All road until you reach Wells, although b roads are surprisingly busy and not easy to move out of the way of oncoming traffic...

From Sennowe Park the route, as it stands, follows the old Sustrans No 1, which was at least under review because from Gt Ryburgh the road is frequented by lorries and then follows a fairly narrow busy road in and out of Fakenham....
