Mixed terrain with coastal heathland near Criccieth, long sandy beach of Black Rock Sands, secluded bays near Morfa Bychan, quaint harbour of Borth-y-Gest, and the bustle of Porthmadog harbourside....

Walk this routeThis route isn't viable at the Afon Dwyfor as it involves fording a deep tidal river. Much easier to follow coast path for entire route....

The route then goes North past standing stones (photo 2) through a new 'kissing gate' (photo 3), past farm buildings to the minor sealed road. The route can then be followed through a farm gate along the back of Bryn-Neuadd to a point where the route of the path is fenced and impassible at SH52686 (photo 5)....

This route isn't viable where the path allegedly crosses the Adon Dwyfor. This is a ford across a tidal river estuary which rarely is walkable. The alternative route is across the fields to the main road....

It is fairly level most of the way, although there are a few short climbs, and the going is generally good....

Walk this routeThe walk from Porthmadog to Criccieth forms part of the Wales Coastal Path and is an attractive walk with 2 beach sections....

Really great walk, the coastal path between Morfa Bychan and Porthmadog is great with some superb coves and beaches. The route is 90% accurate. The only section which isn't quite right is from Criccieth to Black Rock....
