Description
CriPor2 is an interesting and varied route. For most of the time the route follows the Wales Coast Path which is generally well signed. There is some inevitable town walking and navigation at the start and end of the route. Some paths may have puddles and may be muddy when wet. Much of the route follows the high water line around Black Rock Sands with the likely need to cross a shallow stream stream or two. At the eastern end of the bay the path crosses a fairly steep rocky outcrop before weaving around the higher ground. Here (in November 2023) the Coast Path, as signed on the ground, was not as marked on the OS map. The area is criss-crossed with some minor paths and animal tracks and so some care is need with navigation. Generally the way with stone or wood steps is the way to go. (Don't be put off as the route is well worth the effort.) Due to the soft sand, rock outcrops and flights of steps the route is not suitable for wheel chair users and cyclists would need to carry their bikes over some fairly difficult ground

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.
