We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

The walk from Porthmadog to Criccieth forms part of the Wales Coastal Path and is an attractive walk with 2 beach sections. As indicated by the previous reviewer the Slow Ways route has a section at the end of Black Rock Sands which diverges from the proper path where (depending on the state of the tide) it may be possible to clamber over cliffs. This is dangerous to those unfamiliar with the area. Also this area of beach prohibits dogs. Walkers should follow coastal path signs.

Really great walk, the coastal path between Morfa Bychan and Porthmadog is great with some superb coves and beaches.

The route is 90% accurate. The only section which isn't quite right is from Criccieth to Black Rock. You need to walk away from the beach and loop back rather than the direct map route as that takes you off a cliff!.
