Extremely steep around Nwlch yr Eifl and Nant Gwyrtheyrn. Cafe at Nant Gwyrtheyrn nicely breaks up the walk, and Nefyn had enough facilities at the end of a long tiring day. Would definitely recommend this as a slow way....

The coastpath along this stretch is on pavement alongside the A499 but not many other alternatives with lost paths out of Rhosgadfan....

Walk this routeThe paths at Cae Haidd Mawr (SH 49691 56527) are impassible requiring climbing over a dry stone wall with barbed wire fence on top to reach the minor road at SH 49590 56307. Paths leading to SH 48234 54882 run out, ending in dense bracken and deep marshland with no way over the fence at the far end....

On where the marked path was obvious a bad steep choice and it was easier to stick to the visible path and rejoin the coast path. The theme is “the coast path is well marked but the seemingly more direct path is much harder to locate on the ground than the map!”....
