Help connect Bere Regis

Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.

Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.

Give a hike and help get a for every one of Bere Regis’s Slow Ways.

Lovely walk with some stunning views - Woodbarrow Fort is worth a very short detour. Care is needed when crossing some busy roads. Take food and water/drinks....

The second half, from Organford till Poole, is a tar road, with an short but uncomfortable section along the A35, and after crossing the A35, one walks for miles along a monotonous and noisy road through residential areas till the finish. For the section after crossing the A35 just before Upton till the finish, there is an alternative to be considered: the Poole Harbour Trail; more info: https://ldwa.org.uk/ldp/members/show_path.php?path_name=Poole+Harbour+Trail....

On West Street cross the road, turn left and continue up the street passing the Drax Arms pub and local shop until you reach a road on your right signposted Butts Lane. Once safely across the road continue uphill on the hedge lined grass track, through a gap at the top and continue on a wide farm track until you reach a crossroads with a finger post to your left. Immediately after the farm track, leading away to your right from the farm buildings, you will see a footpath which continues ahead on the right-hand side of the road leading to Abbot’s Court House. Follow this path, pass the big house on your left and walk beside a field until you reach a farm track. Continue uphill on the gravel track, pass some farm buildings on your left (Goshen) and you’ve reached the end of the track. Now take a left and continue on a farm track until you reach a tarmacked road. Cross the road and walk in between the buildings by following the footpath until you come to a farm track (Littleton Drove). Turn right, pass Littleton Solar Farm on your left and continue downhill until you reach the A350 main road....
