The first thing I would say is that if you want to walk this route then don't park in Sturminster as that will leave you with a walk along a fairly busy and fast B road with no verge - it's just too risky and unpleasant. Instead, park in the National Trust car park (free) at White Mill, just to the North of Sturminster Marshall....
