Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.
Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.
Give a hike and help get a for every one of St Neots’s Slow Ways.

But you're soon out next to the river, then across through narrow passages past Little Paxton. The path is varied, from wide gritted paths to narrow paths ducking under trees and stepping over branches. Portholme Common is flat grassland with some standing water....

Strider added Stnhun two, a new walk from St Neots to Huntingdon
Walk this routeI tend to agree with the comments about the Huntingdon end of the route though the street section wasn't too bad. The path had been maintained when I walked....

The crossings of the A1 coming out of Sandy and later at Tempsford are impassable and involved short but necessary detours The last part of the walk was along a busy road with no footpath....

The path through tiny Gipsy corner copse was quite overgrown, The path across the field from Gipsy Corner to the golf course had been ploughed and had crops on it (perhaps visible in winter) but I walked around the field alongside a rivulet which had a path rather than walk through the crop. Another long path beside a huge field, across a road, over a low slung wire 'gate' into a field close to a moat which seemed to have over-spilled into the field. Entering St Neots outskirts there is a little suburban walking then a very pleasant cycle/walking path through parkland before crossing a bridge into St Neots town center....
Strider
A long stint, mainly due to long stretch along former roman road which is now a mixture of footpaths and road walking. No amenities along the main stretch of the route, despite shop in suburbs in St Neots. Bring good walking boots and plenty of refreshments....

This is a long Slow Way, with no real stopping points along the main section of the route....

Nice walk following a Roman road part of the way which surprisingly became rather vague and overgrown in places. When crossing the abandoned and overgrown Abbotsley golf course the path was nicely mowed! Had a enjoyable lunch sitting on a shaded bench on Potton village square....
Difficult access in places for less mobile people and busy in places with cyclists especially at the weekends Beautifully quiet in the evenings...

Almost the same walk as StnHun one following the Ouse Valley way. Again avoid walking into Little Paxton and keep following the Ouse Valley Way all the way to St. Neots....
Avoid the walk along the Buckden Road out of Huntingdon and follow the great Ouse Valley Way out of Huntingdon and also past Little Paxton. I stopped at the Paxton Pits reserve cafe for a lovely cup of tea and refill my water bottle! Lots of kissing gates so not suitable for wheels....
One gate to open an no styles, missed the turning to follow the old Roman road through abandoned Abottsley golf course, not sure if there was a sign. Some road walking but apart from through Caxton village they were very minor roads....
Lovely walk along the Ouse but would be better to follow the Ouse Valley Way along the entire route rather than following the road at the Huntingdon end - the road is busy and has to be crossed twice whereas the OVW stays on paths and enters Huntingdon via Mill Common straight to the bus station. If going to the Visitor Centre at Paxton Pits take the path in the Nature Reserve to the OVW rather than going through Little Paxton. The OVW is well waymarked ....

Enjoyable walk from Kimbolton to Hail Weston across farmland and then route followed a rather busy B645 into St. Neots. Although there was a nice wide Cycle/Foot path the traffic was quite busy....
