The route works, but the paths are neglected in places and not the best. The best bits or the walk make up for the worst though!...

and probably the way people have walked between Shaftesbury and Tisbury for hundreds of years. I walked this route as part of a one day adventure between Sherborne and Tisbury, both of which have train stations. Other than a small section of on the edge of Shaftesbury the rest of the route goes through Cranborne Chase National Landscape, with its gorgeous rolling hills and woodlands....

That said, it's also a gorgeous part of the country with some wonderful views and I loved Duncliffe Woods, which were ablaze with autumn colours. There's not only great views, but lots of charming shops....

Both Shaftesbury and Tisbury have good coffee shops so whichever direction you do the walk, you can finish it with a nice cuppa. There's a pub at Donhead St Andrew called 'The Forester' that does good food should you fancy a mid-point meal....

The only difference with Marsha one, is that after Caalm Camp, where Marsha one crosses the tar road and continues through the grassland, Marsha two follows the tar road towards Stour Row....

Marsha one follows the Hardy Way. Marsha two does so too, but after Caalm Camp, where Marsha one crosses the tar road and continues through the grassland, Marsha two follows the tar road towards Stour Row....

Walking east: pass both gates into the meadows and keep the shrubs and bushes at your left hand. After about 500 m there is an opening with a small concrete bridge. Turn left here, cross the bridge and continue straight ahead. After about 100 m the parking lot is at your right hand. Turn right here. A "White Hart Link" sign shows the direction to continue. Walking west: at the parking lot, go through the gate and turn left; do no go straight ahead. After about 100m there is a small concrete bridge. Turn right after the bridge and keep the shrubs and bushes at your right hand, till you reach the gates at the western exit of the meadows....

After yesterday's walk, I know for sure: Gilsha one does not exist, at least the route drawn on the Slow Ways website. The GPX file contains the same data-points as Gilsha two. For my review of the route, see Gilsha two....

This is a poor duplicate of Gilsha Two (route is inaccurately drawn). It should be deleted....
