Sawtry to Stilton is stunning open fields, 4.5 star, but Stilton to Yaxley is mostly tarmac, 3.3 stars. The path turns to a track turns to a road leading through Stilton, dead straight. The road through Stilton goes to a busy junction, avoided by a cycle path which turns along side the A15 with new housing being built....

Walk this routeThere were a few narrow paths as the route skimmed into Aversley Wood, but mostly field side grassy paths. The fields had been harvested and, all bar one, the paths were clear, the paths are sign posted both on the ground and on the map, navigation is straightforward. Narrow paths and bridges, stiles, kissing gates....

The 'road safety issue' mentioned by the previous reviewer is probably as the route goes through dense impenetrable hedges onto a busy road ie no path. I have walked and redrawn the route around the other side of a roundabout where there are paths....

On the farmland sections the path is generally clear but disappears in some fields - the map however shows the way....
