Latest Updates
This route starts in Shanklin town centre - shops, loos, bus and rail routes all available here. The route joins the Isle of Wight coastal path just outside the town centre and you walk the cliff path between the two towns....
Almighty Custard
This is a lovely route, mainly flat and very attractive, but it it does have the disadvantage of crossing marshland which becomes almost impassable during the winter months, although it was dry on the day I walked it in April. It is possible to skirt around the edge of the marsh if necessary but sturdy walking boots/wellies would still be essential....

Ok route, whilst the part by the railway track is good, the part that goes through the marsh can often be flooded during the winter and is only passable if you are wearing welly boots....

The path is quite steep going up to and down from Yarborough Monument. Perfect Slow Way, with a lovely beachfront cafe exactly at the end in Sandown!...

I walked it Sandown to Shanklin, so the trek from ocean level up to the coastal path along the top of the cliff was quite steep (steep pavement and stairs)....
