Help connect Pocklington

Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.

Give a hike and help get a for every one of Pocklington’s Slow Ways.

You come to a road and walk up the road for about 75m before branching right continuing across fields on another well defined track, going slightly up hill. From here you follow the road to a crossroads, go across and head to Burnby. In summary an easy walk through fields and gates , moving to road walking after Londesborough....

The walk from Market Weighton takes you along the regular footpath through the town and then turn right as you leave the town on the public footpath up to Londesborough. The public footpath does go across the busy main road so you need to be careful crossing this. The walk from Burnby to Pocklington is on the road which is significantly busier than the other road elements of the walk but there is a grass verge....

Although I haven’t walked the full route from Pocklington to Market Weighton the section from Partridge Hall Farm in a SE direction to Londesborough then to Market Weighton is a pleasant, well marked route on good paths across farmland and through part of the Londesborough Estate with a short section of road walking. Londesborough has an interesting church but no pubs or cafes. Take care when crossing the A164....
