I have access to old and new OS Maps and the farmer was right in telling me I have walked through private land. Getting back is OK - there is an hourly bus from MW to Bridgnorth - although there was a 10 minute discrepancy between google maps and bustimes.org. Google maps was correct....

Nice mixture of paths and lanes to Cardington that is easy to follow. Might be easier for some to lane walk from Cardington to Willstone and follow the bridleway from there....

Halfway if requires some road walking on mostly quiet country lanes but care needs taking on the busy lane between Atcham and Cross Houses and the short busy stretch on the B4380 road (with pavement) - noisy but well worth putting up with as you leave it to follow the pretty river walk winding its way into Shrewsbury which is peaceful and delightful....

Passed Benthall Hall and church and saw views of the Wrekin, Wenlock Priory and through the haze, the 'Blue Remembered Hills' of south Shropshire....
