04 Apr 2023Nice start in the pretty village of Much Wenlock. Steady climb up to Wenlock Edge. Easy to follow path through woodland with glimpses of views over Shropshire. Drops down to an abandoned railway. Easy to follow and nice going under foot. Nice mixture of paths and lanes to Cardington that is easy to follow. Steep climb up and over between Caer Caradoc and Willstone Hill. Might be easier for some to lane walk from Cardington to Willstone and follow the bridleway from there. Once beyond Helmeth Hill, ensure you stay right at the gate that says Unmade Road (or something like that) with a track leading beyond this gate into a dark gravel lane. This is more of a river than a lane. Follow the path to the right of the gate (it leads to the same place.
