Help connect Lymington
Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.
Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.
Give a hike and help get a for every one of Lymington’s Slow Ways.

This route involves a sea crossing and a route where there isn’t even a ferry so you need to sail or privately charter a boat!...

Walk this routeLoved the variety of this slow way including the coast, new forest countryside and through the beautiful town of lymington. The only disappointing section was the approach in to Lymington that was on a path but beside a busy road....

We did the Lymington to Milford on Sea section of this route as part of the Slow Ways Swarm Weekender....

Once the A337, Milford Road is reached the walk is along a busy main road which is not easy to cross (there is only a footpath on one side). On reaching the High Street the walk becomes more interesting again....

This route then comes to a bit of weak ending after leaving Newbridge Copse where it joins the main A road into Lymington. Although there is a separate pavement away from the road this is still a busy A road with fast traffic - sometimes tricky to cross....
Slow Ways Darren
The very first thing to do is cross the railway line and then cross the busy road for the start of the walk. but later in the walk the Nature Reserve gives way to main roads until half way along Boldre Road when the walk leads in you in to a bridleway which is virtually impassable right the way through to Lymington....

Beautiful but VERY MUDDY on the stretch beside the Lymington River!!! As you turn down Shallow Lane, you come across a beautiful stretch of water, and cross over the Lymington River on a charming bridge. the 'path' here runs alongside the Lymington River (with some stunning views of the reed beds) but unfortunately the water has encroached on the path in several places. The last stretch is back on country roads, before you come to Lymington itself, where you can sit and relax as you watch the boats, and there are plenty of food, drink and other amenities to choose from....
