Having tried and failed to walk Collud one, I compiled and walked this alternative. It is far easier, and takes in well defined bridlepaths and footpaths, whilst slightly further, it is significantly less stressful...

Walk this routeWhilst the route is across country, there are a few challenging sections, where it does not follow the tracks on Ordnance Survey map, these include a new housing estate.....

This route largely follows Tidlud two, but takes out a number of challenges as mapped, with a more pragmatic route on the ground....

I totally agree with the two previous reviews, the route is 100% paved, lit tarmac, so is accessible to pushchairs, wheelchairs and mobility scooters....

The pavement at Tidworth end slightly encroached upon by garden hedges but adequate. Steep incline in parts Tidworth to Ludgershall, better the other way. A route purely for getting from A to B rather than for pleasure....

Big problems with this one, the half of the route closest to Ludgershall is good, although likely to be muddy in the winter. The northern half (from where it leaves the edge of the woods) doesn't seem to exist anymore, no gaps in crop on field, gates wired shut, totally overgrown. Diversion to the east is long and not without issues....

Accessible route alongside main road, it too pretty but good floor surface and is a straight and fast way between villages. Steep at Tidworth side so may not be accessible for everyone, also traffic is fast on this road so be mindful....
