Help connect Andover
Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.
Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.
Give a hike and help get a for every one of Andover’s Slow Ways.

I've uploaded Gratand two as an alternative because this route includes half a mile along Cattle Lane, which is narrow, has high hedges, no pavement and quite a lot of vehicle traffic. People do walk along here, but I think the alternative is safer. The bulk of two routes are the same, so please read that review for more detail about this route....

It's a rural route which has uneven sections across fields and can be very muddy in places. It's not difficult to follow the route which is mostly level, has long stretches on well made tracks and is stile free. There are lots of footpath markers and it's easy to follow the correct route with a map. After about 50 yards the route continues on the other side of the road and runs behind houses for about 3/4 of a mile to Upper Clatford....

The 'boat' section between the golf course and the bridge under the A303 is narrow in places and now deeply rutted in places....
