Latest Updates
It is a lovely route but I guess not popular as I met no-one between the last tarmac in Clackmannan and the first tarmac in Alloa. Whichever route is followed, the walker eventually reaches an earth path running east-west, parallel to the fence line and the Black Devon burn. The lane continues in a westerly direction through trees until just before it emerges onto Forth Crescent at which point it heads north and uphill into the trees (on an earth path) before emerging at the southwest corner of a big warehouse. A more formal path then appears ahead and the route follows this all the way into the centre of Alloa, passing the entrance to the Forth Valley College (Note the lovely views to the north)....

dull functional plod down the main road, and then through suburbs of Alloa to pick up the last part of the Devon way ( tarmaced old railway line). A quieter road leading from Alva to Fishcross to pick up the Devon Way at an earlier point, is presumably not recommended as it lacks a footpath although there are quite a lot of pedestrians walking to the residential caravan site on the road....

From Alloa (shops, cafes) follow Stirling road until opposite primary school route is signposted climbing up a wooded bank....
