Most of this route is lovely, along the Meanwood Valley trail and through some lovely countryside but there is a short stretch along the very busy and fast ring road which is horrible and I would not recommend. There is an alternative route possible by turning right when you get to the ring road, going through the underpass and through Scotland Wood (past the amazing Seven Arches aqueduct). Some of the route can get very muddy, walking boots needed. I also have a couple of other suggestions, when walking along the Meanwood Ridge part of the trail, choose the middle path, not the lower, as this is less muddy. Also near Hustlers Row/Weetwood Mill Lane, the path on this route doesn't exist, choose the first right path after leaving Meanwood Park.

We did this walk last Saturday and thought it was excellent. From Adel down to Hyde Park we walked in mostly wooded areas. Also walking next to water was very relaxing as well. Even though it's 6 miles it didn't feel like it and has an excellent stopping off point in Meanwood centre for a rest and to refuel. Would definitely recommend this walk if you're looking for a 3 hour city centre walk.

A great way to travel North out of Leeds. Wonderful wooded sections with facilities in the middle section near Meanwood.
