3. The marked footway passes up a sloped road with some uneven ground and aging temporary ramps. 1.2 km from start — 13 May 2021

6. The slow way returns to footways using pedestrian crossings to cross a major road then a street. 2.2 km from start — 13 May 2021

7. Having walked through streets in a housing area the slow way arrives at the entrance to Woodhouse ridge. Through this barrier the slow way passes right down a short flight of steps then left on to a unpaved path. 3.1 km from start — 13 May 2021

8. After about 200m there is a second short flight of steps adjacent to the remains of a building. 3.3 km from start — 13 May 2021

9. Another 200m down the path there is another short flight of steps where the slow way turns left, climbing slightly. 3.5 km from start — 13 May 2021

10. Starting to leave the wooded area the slow way passes through a pedestrian rock barrier and turns right down a sloping stepped path. 4 km from start — 13 May 2021

11. A the bottom of the slow the path turns left onto an unpaved lane to an often locked gate. Pedestrians can pass the gate around the end where the slow way crosses the street. On the other side of the street the slow way follows a footpath between houses and park area. Following the path to the end the slow way crossed a street on a blind bend and into another street. 4.3 km from start — 13 May 2021

12. At the end of that short street the route uses an unmade path to the old mill building. Turning right then left around the mill the slow way crosses to a footway behind a parking area. 4.8 km from start — 13 May 2021

13. Passing trough a cycle barrier back on to an unmade path. 5.1 km from start — 13 May 2021

14. To exit the path there is a narrow gap between stones then a narrow concrete paved path up to Meanwood primary school. 5.3 km from start — 13 May 2021

15. When passed the school and the cafe the slow way enters Meanwood park. 5.4 km from start — 13 May 2021

16. At the far end of this initial section of the park there are two narrow foot bridges. 5.8 km from start — 13 May 2021

17. Immediately after the second footbridge most walkers turn immediately right and follow the footpath. This photograph is taken, looking back, from further up the path straight on from the bridge which would be taken if following the route on the map / gpx file (also the Dales Way Leeds link route). 18. When following the alternative path immediately right after the footbridge, it soon joins a path following the old mill race. 6 km from start — 13 May 2021

19. At the end of the path along the mill race the slow way crossed a footbridge and up some steps to meet an alternative path that has passed up the East side of the stream from Meanwood park. 6.3 km from start — 13 May 2021

20. The slow way exits the park onto a footway at the side of a lane and up to a dual carriageway. 6.4 km from start — 13 May 2021

21. At the top of the lane there is a designed crossing point allowing pedestrians to cross into the centre of the dual carriage way when the regular gaps in traffic allow then on to the far footway. Turning left an up to the entrance into the cricket club access lane. 6.8 km from start — 13 May 2021
