The only problem with the navigation was, although there is a right of way up the mountain from the Rocky Road, there is no path as such, so it`s a matter of yomping through the vegetation, which is quite dense in places. After leaving the road, there is a lovely section across the Clydach Valley and then the rural mountain tops overlooking Mountain Ash, before the steep decent down into the final destination. A long steep walk up through the streets of Tylorstown, across the fields then on to the lane to the golf course....

It follows the Rhondda Fach river, which has been artificially straightened and the banks strengthened in places, but in some stretches it looks natural and there are some nice pools deep enough for a dunk on a hot day. This path should be negotiable by wheelchair, although just a note of caution at the bridge crossing the river at around the half way point....
