Walk this routeThe section of route between Honingsham and the house and so between Honingsham and leaving the park at Cole Hill is, according to the estate not accessible on foot, although a Sustrans trail and part of the Wiltshire Cycle way. you need to be on a cycle. Fromai (two) is a good option....

Information from Longleat House indicates that the main drive between the house and Horningsham although open to cyclists is not accessible on foot. Therfore a large section of the route from Longhedge past the house and the driveway are out of bounds to walkers. Not sure about wheelchair users....

Go through the pedestrian (narrow) gate and follow the farm track WNW (left) down the hill and through Rodmead Farm (I have found the farmer to be friendly if you are respectful)....

After the wooded section and approaching Holt Road, I totally struggled to find this path. To avoid the trouble, I stayed on the farm access road which landed on Holt Road a bit south of where the Slow Way path crosses. It seemed to me there were a lot of paths that started with closed and locked gates you had to climb over, and then the paths were really not clear or through fields of cows. Had a few other serious navigation difficulties in the next bit of farmland after South Brewham - the paths just didn't quite exist where Slow Ways and OSMaps said they should, and it was getting really frustrating! - For much of the route, the path quality was very good (good dirt road or compacted dirt path) - Minor but really frustrating navigation issues, combined with fields of cows that just scare me...

The segment along the A362 is short enough, and after a steep uphill segment after the Slow Way route turns towards Frome Station, there's a long stretch of path along the River. This path is VERY overgrown in parts, and often overgrown with stinging plants! Approaching the B3092 the path goes through a succession of fields (and gates), and the last field had several cows in it. In other segments, the path was very overgrown (again with stinging plants!). Where the Slow Way route goes up Pottle Street a little bit before heading back into the field, just continue straight across and don't go up Pottle Street - there's no path there!...
