Best to walk in summer and keep to paths as much as possible as roads can be busy as you get near Newcastle under Lyme....

Walk this routeOverall, the route is ok, but I can't quite recommend it for a number of accuracy and access issues that make it just not fully workable for anyone but the bravest and most willing of countryside walkers. After that, there's a good stretch of fields where the footpath is... Overall, this route had some nice bits and some highlights, but it was also a very challenging one, with lots of obstacles....
