Help connect Nantwich
Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.
Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.
Give a hike and help get a for every one of Nantwich’s Slow Ways.

The canal section is pleasant and non challenging, although the section from Barbridge to Alphraham is alongside the main road and a bit noisy....

This is a straightforward and easy path, mainly following the tow path of the Shropshire Union canal. The Nantwich end before you get onto the canal is, in July, a bit overgrown - mainly long grass and there is nothing impassable. There is a railway crossing, but good visibility so this shouldn’t present a problem....

This isn’t the most picturesque route out of Crewe, but it does include the rather splendid Queen’s Park, it is pretty flat and is surfaced the whole way. If the park is closed, it is possible to divert around it - turn left onto Queen’s Park Drive when you leave Tipkinder Park. The route includes the King Shilling Way which runs parallel to the busy Middlewich Road - separated from the road by a verge and a hedge....

Leaving the main road is lovely through fields with a route into Tarporley via quiet back lanes....
Maddy Fowler
The route here was easy to follow except for a small section of path which runs alongside the railway line (the section closest to the town going away from Fields Farm)....

This is a quick direct route between the two towns and is roughly half road walking and half footpaths through fields....
