Help connect Lizard

Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.

Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.

Give a hike and help get a for every one of Lizard’s Slow Ways.

Latest Updates

It looks like it is the most direct route and is certainly a very beautiful route as well. It does not follow the SW coast path all the way, in fact it starts by taking a different route out of Lizard village through pathways, fields and woodlands. One path was on top of a hedge which I didn't realise at first so went slightly off the route before going back and seeing the stones to climb up to join the very narrow path....

I really enjoyed this walk, the different terrain of coast path, fields and track is great....

Walked this enjoyable route in reverse (Lizard to Helston) on Wednesday 12th October. I wonder whether the route setter knows the Helston area very well, because the route between Poldhu and Helston took me across a couple of fields where the footpath is virtually non-existent. It's hard to grumble too much because I saw two deer on one of the fields, which is the first time I've seen deer this close to Helston!...

Arguably the best route to take when travelling between these two locations, passing along lovely beaches and coves that make for perfect resting (or swimming) spots. It's only possible by foot; there are a few steep sections to descend/climb and numerous step/stone/squeeze/Cornish along the way....
