Decided to go low and follow the river as it was a particularly spicy day, was lovely to swim in the river! Trail conditions were great!...

This was a particularly hot day so we decided to walk next to the river which allowed us to cool off, definitely worth it as the route was easy to follow next to the river. we ended up at a lovely campsite serving bacon rolls....

As it was very hot and midsummer we decided to walk along the river valley so we could swim in the river....

lots of hills on this route over the moors which were difficult to navigate at points. good stomp though slightly tiresome....

We did the route from Keld to Kirkby Stephen so there was a steep descent at the end along a long twisting road, which can be hard on the feet if in hiking boots. The path became difficult to navigate at points but overall a stunning walk...

The more traditional way from Kirkby Stephen to Keld is via the Coast to Coast route which goes up and over the moors via Nine Standards ....
