Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

07 Aug 2024We are in the Dales now! Lots of ups and downs and finished with a long road walk but really beautiful! The trail was slightly boggy and hard to navigate at times.

06 Aug 2024A beautiful route over into the moors. A fair but of up and down and hill climbing. We did the route from Keld to Kirkby Stephen so there was a steep descent at the end along a long twisting road, which can be hard on the feet if in hiking boots. The path became difficult to navigate at points but overall a stunning walk.

01 May 2021You will need your hill legs for this walk, up up up, then down down , down. This route follows the road making it a decent accessible surface. The more traditional way from Kirkby Stephen to Keld is via the Coast to Coast route which goes up and over the moors via Nine Standards .
