Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

07 Aug 2024This was a particularly hot day so we decided to walk next to the river which allowed us to cool off, definitely worth it as the route was easy to follow next to the river. we ended up at a lovely campsite serving bacon rolls.

07 Aug 2024This is a beautiful walk to Keld. As it was very hot and midsummer we decided to walk along the river valley so we could swim in the river. This route is very easy to follow and is flat and fairly accessible. You walk along the bottom of the valley from Muker to Keld which is stunning, before climbing the hill to Keld. I would strongly recommend this route.
I would say in winter perhaps to use the higher route as the lower route along the river could be flooded, but for the midsummer heat it offered cool respite.
Keld has a campsite that serves bacon butties and provisions for snacks.
