Most of this route is excellent, on good surfaces, However I was unable to complete the section alongside the Nene (Brampton branch) north of Mill Lane because part of the path (not a formal right of way) on the east side of the river was fenced off for some kind of maintenance work. We follow the railway, initially on the left but crossing to the right beyond Pitsford and Brampton station, then pass Boughton Mill and the new Boughton station to reach the new roundabout on the A5199. I was able to rejoin the route on Mill Lane, which has a useful pelican crossing by the path right, which we follow into Kingsthorpe Park....

There are also a few stiles on the path from the Way up to Brixworth, so it is not a wheel friendly route - the road alternative there does not have a pavement. Just before we reach Station Road take the path that branches left to the road. A short section between a stream and the sewage works fence leads to an open field, where the path is not well defined, though the exit gate is clearly visible from below. In the next field the waymarks direct walkers around the edge, and we follow the path into a charming wooded passageway before emerging back onto Station Road....

Walk this routeI would suggest, however, that this is a walk for drier weather - the section between the Holcot Road and Scaldwell is especially muddy, and the stream crossing on the far side of the village is rather boggy; a stream appeared in the middle of the field immediately before Old Poor's Gorse (illustrated), and the path through the wood was waterlogged. To compensate, the views over Pitsford Water at the beginning of the walk are stunning, as is the section between Mawsley and Kettering. The major downside is the trek alongside the A14 and back in order to reach Kettering....
KB
This is a nice walk but a better route is at Teeton to take the road North to Guilsborough and then either turn South West towards Ravensthorpe (picking up the west haddon footpath on the edge of Ravensthorpe) or continue to coton and pick up the footpath there. Very nice pub in spratton for lunch....
