Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

An easy and fairly flat route, which is tarmac for almost all the way. It passes through the Trehafod Park and Barry Sidings Country Park, which take up the majority of the walk. I can imagine this area being very busy on a sunny day in the holidays, but no problem in September. The Barry Sidings Cafe was good also, well worth a stop off there.
This should be a good route for wheeling and most of it it is a cycle path, but there are a couple of potential hazards for wheelchair users firstly at Llwyncelyn, where the road ends and the cycle track starts. Also within the park itself, the width of some of the barriers may be a problem - not sure, but wheelchair users should check in advance.

26 Oct 2021A nice traffic free route, but be aware that it is not well lit so may not be suitable for night time walking, and there are some barriers which may be difficult for wheelchair users to pass through. I have reported these to the local authority so hopefully they will be removed soon.
