Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

24 Aug 2023The route is quiet and pleasant, the hilly section in the middle across the Greensand Ridge is particularly nice, as are the views. Right in the middle at Ide Hill there's a pub and a small "community shop" but no signs of public transport anywhere. Steep slopes and stiles abound. Couple of sections of significant winter mud near Edenbridge.
But it goes over private land on a woodland track which is not a Right of Way at TQ 4957 5326 near Goathurst Common and there are landowner signs telling people to stay on the footpaths and warning about logging and heavy plant movement. Didn't take a photo of the *very emphatic* ones in the woods but attached is a friendlier one from elsewhere along the route, probably aimed at dog-walkers from Sevenoaks, including a map to not-so-subtly remind them where not to go. The alternative is easy to figure out but I'll upload a new route anyway, and it gives me a chance to incorporate two small changes that I tested out.
