Hardly any gradient to this walk but the beginning (Leaving Headcorn) along the Smarden Road is to encounter a very fast stretch of road which some may feel intimidated by....

Not the best walk, a lot of missing way markers and finger posts many of the paths are overgrown there are also trees across the paths. Ploughed fields without the paths being reinstated. In Staplehurst the route directs you down a dead end and indicates a footpath that doesn't exist, i checked on kent Footpaths....

The next section from Chart Sutton area across fields and then turning left towards Sutton Valence was reasonable walking. Care needed crossing A274 road into Sutton Valence ( lovely views) Steeps steps down from upper part of Sutton Valence and then below castle there was a step and very overgrown path ( very wet at the time ) Dropped down by fruit farm and very sticky ground towards Heniker Lane which I managed to follow around Weald of kent GOlf Course and then finally lost definitive route and ran out of time just after the Golf Course....
