Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.
Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.
Give a hike and help get a for every one of Framlingham’s Slow Ways.

As is mentioned in the description some of the paths across the fields were not as drawn on the map, going round the edge of a couple of fields rather than diagonally across the field. A couple of times this was on farm tracks and one field where it was a well walked path around the edge....

Robin Langdon added Neefra two, a new walk from Needham Market to Framlingham
Walk this routeThis route is being replaced with Neefra Two which is almost identical except the section along the A140 has been removed. I did not actually walk the route but looking at the section that goes along the A140 it would not be safe. Its a busy road and quite narrow in the section being walked and there is no pavement but only a grass verge close to the road....

The route has a couple of errors in the accuracy of the route so has been replaced with Frawic Two, which is identical just with the errors corrected. So please any reviews to Frawic Two not this route....

The first bit of the route takes you through the town and along the back of a new housing estate and then onto a lane. After about half a mile on the lane you get off the road onto farmland. The route is mainly farm tracks of grass and gravel. There are a few field crossings on narrow soil paths but these were mainly clear. There was one section after Parham across a field that had no distinct path, just head for left hand corner of field to a gate, the following field has a clearer track going left up the field, watch out for the thunder here :-)....

When I walked the route I came across a path closed sign near Great Glemham at TM 34689 61585 I had already walked the bit of path that was closed as there was no sign from the direction I walked...
